Although there are numerous ways to get to beautiful Door County, the
most accessible way is to take highway 57 north from Green Bay. Whether
you take highway 43 North from Milwaukee or 41 North from the Fox
Valley, it is a little over an hour after you reach highway 57. The easiest
way to get to the Dogg House is to take highway 42-57 North out of Sturgeon
Bay. The highway splits about 3 miles north of Sturgeon Bay, keep going
straight on highway 42 for another 3 miles until you see a sign for County
HH. Take a left on HH and follow the road until you get to a stop sign
(1/2 mile). Keep going straight for another 1/2 mile, take a right onto
the trail at 6024 Old OR Road when you see the small Dogg House sign.
Follow the trail, stay to the left when it splits. Roger and Connie's
house is located at 6050 Old OR.
For an alternate route, you can take highway 42 out of Green Bay and drive
along the lakeshore to just south of Sturgeon Bay. If you are coming from
downtown Sturgeon Bay you can take County B along the bay shore, it
is also know as Bay Shore Drive Dr. The main shopping street downtown
is 3rd Avenue, which turns into Bay Shore Dr as you head Northwest out
of town. Take this about 5 miles a little past Birmingham's and Schartner's
on the Shore, two excellent restaurants, and take a right on Old OR Road(some signs say Bluff Ct). Follow this road for about 1.5 miles; you
then must take a right to stay on Old OR before going down a large
hill. Then take a left on the gravel road at 6024 Old OR Road.
